Podmínky pořádání seminářů na škole

  1. Seminář musí být domluven min. 3 týdny před požadovaným termínem konání.
  2. Pokud bude počet registrovaných účastníků menší než osm, je škola povinna nahlásit tuto skutečnost pořadateli nejméně týden dopředu. Výjimky musí být schváleny pořadatelem. Pořadatel semináře na základě dohody seminář a) zruší b) přesune na jiný termín. 
  3. Pokud se na seminář dostaví méně než osm osob a pořadatel nebude o nižším počtu účastníků informován předem, bude škole účtován poplatek za lektora ve výši 800 Kč + cestovní náklady.

Essential Teaching Principles you (might) have forgotten (Teens)

Make your adolescent students learn the most while you as teachers do not waste your time, nor your energy – these are in my experience the very basic and very simplified principles that contribute to bilateral classroom satisfaction when both you and your learners leave the lessons feeling it was worth it. In this session we are going to look at useful techniques that promote vocabulary acquisition and its long-term retention, ideas how grammar explanation and practice can be made more meaningful and fun through engaging context and multiple media channels and finally share views, experience and tips on limiting your preparation time to minimum.


Learning to Learn: How can teachers support successful learning behaviour? (Teens/ Young Adults)

How may teachers and teaching materials contribute to students´ successful learning? Students´ learning behaviour, i.e. what they do in order to learn a language as well as how they do it naturally varies among individuals and among different course types, too. In this session we are going to have a closer look at the specific features of teenage learners, who still have to greatly rely on their teachers but at the same time are becoming more autonomous both in their school as well as private lives and what´s more - have to start preparing for passing their Maturita exams. Teachers have to encourage both their controlled and uncontrolled positive learning behaviour and there is a whole range of tools and strategies how to do it.


Learning without (much) Forgetting (YL)

The correct use of our memory is important for what we successfully learn. Effective learning is dependent on how much our pupils can remember from their English classes. But how does our memory really work? How can you help your pupils remember the most and forget the least with the knowledge of human memory secrets? In today´s session we are going to see in what (different) ways you as teachers may support the memory processes with primary (6 – 10) a lower secondary (11 – 16) pupils and at the same time adapt your lessons to these principles.


Teaching Technical English Right from Start (Teens/ Adults)

What is the difference between a lathe and a milling centre, the Y axis and the rear axle, KPa and Nm? The world of technical English may seem too challenging for a regular general English teacher, however if you adopt the right attitude and have the right teaching materials it can also be interesting, fun and rewarding both for the teacher and their students. Unlike many other courses, students of technical subjects have specific needs and if teachers manage to teach them technical English together with the basic general language structures and word stock, they provide the students with the language they can put into practice “the next day”. Then the students become highly motivated. And don´t be afraid – the Teacher´s Book, your students and your technical subject colleagues will give you the support you need. Your students´ motivation and interest will be your reward!

In today´s session we are going to explore in what ways the context of movie stories and the presence of their characters in primary school classes may boost your pupils´ learning efficiency and at the same time make your classes more fun.
